🔥Confirming players are logged in

Alongside each name in the Team table in the Facilitator Dashboard is an indication that a player is logged in and online. For more exercises, especially when you have a video conference in progress or everyone is in the same room, this is fine.

However, for large exercises and especially when players are working from home or remotely across locations, poor connections with high latency will disrupt the efficacy of this option.

A more reliable solution is to prompt players to click a button or take some other action to confirm they are logged in. The benefit of the button click is it's simple for the player to do and easy for the facilitator to see the count in the Review tab.

Which channel should you use?

You should combine your confirmation with a thoughtful strategy for how you're going to manage the exercise and which channels will be used for which purpose.

Our recommendation is usually to have a channel dedicated for player advice/instruction which is "out of world" - so not considered to be in the realm of the the scenario. You could call it "Instruction" or similar. Only include in this channel necessary confirmations and prompts.

There are several channels that might be suitable - Blog, Library as well as Msngr and TeamChat. You'll need to consider what other "in-world" player interactions there needs to be in order to make the best choice.

The notification channel can also be used by adding a single question as a confirmation button.
