How To Assign Roles and Positions

Roles, positions and groups help you segment your human players to publish content only to those segments. Positions also allows impersonation of personas with the matching position (see Impersonation).

Roles and Positions can be assigned in Team table in the Editor or the Facilitator Dashboard. Groups are intended to be assigned dynamically via interaction and can only be named in the Editor.

When to Use

Use this feature when:

  • You need to control the dissemination of content to specific participants.

  • Certain tasks require impersonation privileges (i.e. controlling certain stakeholders)

How to Set It Up

Add positions by navigating to Configuration > Positions

If using Impersonation you can also add Personas to the position while here. Or add later add the position to the persona.

While in Personas navigate to positions. Add new positions via the pop-up - click the bottom right like go to positions

To a role to a player you must do so via the Teams table: Configuration > Teams > Show Roles. Note that by default the role is hidden (role 1 is the default role)

To give a name to the Roles and Groups, navigate to Configuration > Roles and Groups

Assign positions and roles in the Facilitator Dashboard

While the exercise is running, you can assign positions and roles via the Facilitator Dashboard. Navigate to Teams then look for Edit in the top right corner. Click edit and now you can assign players roles and positions. Click Save to save changes.

Publishing content to specific player segments

Within an Inject, you can select which position, team, role or group to send your content to. Select the destination from the drop-down in the To field.
