What does the Msngr channel look like to players?

Can players interact in Msngr?

To an extent. Msngr mostly used as a one-way channel. It allows you to send out communications to the players, but players cannot comment back.

Ways players can interact on Msngr include answering a question via:

  • Choice

  • Open text

  • Arrange

  • Drop-down List

  • Multiple-select

If you are looking for an interactive channel where players can chat amongst themselves or respond to an inject, the Messenger Plus channel is a good option.

Creating Messenger Injects

In the Exercise Editor, head to Exercise > Add Inject and select "What Method?" as "Msngr".

As always, add your content in the text block, choose what persona it's coming "From" and "To" then click save and close.

Add a Question to a Messenger Inject

To add a question, select Question and how you want your players to interact with the inject.

Open Text – The player types a response once

Choice – The player selects one option from two or more predefined choices

Arrange – The player organizes options in a specific order (e.g., by priority)

Drop-Down List – The player selects one option from a menu

Multiselect – Similar to Choice, but allows selecting multiple options instead of just one

This flexibility lets you tailor interactions to match the scenario and player's needs.

Add automatic replies to questions

You can enable automatic replies to questions by selecting the checkbox. There are two options:

  1. Same Reply for All Choices– Every player receives the same response, no matter which option they choose

  2. Different reply to Each Choice– Each choice triggers a different predefined response, allowing for more tailored interactions

This feature helps create dynamic conversations and enhances realism even further
