Persona as a team member

The recommended approach is to use impersonation and assign the player a permission that matches with the personas they should impersonate.

However, if a role-player is only impersonating one persona it can be more convenient for the player to log in as that persona they're playing.

To accomplish this you'll need to do the following:

  • Ensure that the persona’s email is the same as the participant's login.

  • Ensure the facilitator can reset the password for the persona if they have a fictional email address.

1

Assign persona as a team member

First, enable the email channel for the persona and enter an email address. If the persona needs to send email then it should be a fictional email address that's in keeping with that persona.

Then click "General" and check the box "matches player login"

2

Add personas to the Team Table

  1. Navigate to the Team Table to click on "Add personas" (bottom right corner). This will copy over all personas that "match player login".

  2. Toggle the Password switch and set a password

  3. Click the checkbox to allow it to be reset by the Facilitator. This is necessary for fictional email addresses. The player will log in with this email address & password but it may be necessary to reset the password.

Password resets during an exercise

If you need to reset the player's password during an exercise, navigate to the player in the Facilitator Dashboard team table and click the password reset icon.

This will generate a password reset link.

The link can now be emailed or passed to the player outside of Conducttr so that they can reset their password and continue to log in.
