### MEL Improvement in Exercise Editor

We’ve significantly improved how MELs, Events, and Serials are created and managed in the Exercise Editor, making it easier to structure and control the flow of your exercises.

**🎉What’s Improved:**

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Simplified Multi-Mel" %}
Tabs are now used exclusively for the **Multi MEL (Master Events List)** feature. You no longer need to manually select MEL numbers—they’re created automatically.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Event Hierarchy" %}
MELs now have an Event entity allowing you to organise Serials by Event.

e.g. Event // Serial // Inject

{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Event Progression" %}
You can decide how events progress in the Facilitator's MEL - either manually (i.e. click a button) or automatically.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

**⚙️How MEL Progression Works:**

* **Inject-to-Inject:** Injects within a Serial always follow the **time intervals** set between them.
* **Event-to-Event:** If "Advance Manually" is **not** enabled, the next Event will also start automatically based on the scheduled trigger time.

{% hint style="info" %}
**💡Use Case Example:**

* **Use Event + Manual Advance:**\
 Useful where the **pace may vary depending on discussions** or participant responses. For example, in crisis simulations where each Event represents a distinct phase (e.g., detection, escalation, resolution), facilitators may want full control over when each phase begins.
 {% endhint %}

### Mute Injects (inside Editor)

**🎉What’s New:**\
You can now **mute injects** if you want to avoid publishing them without deleting them.

**⚙️How it Works:**

* In the MEL Editor, each inject now includes a **Mute option**.
* When muted:
 * The inject **remains in the scenario** (visible in the editor)
 * It is **not published** or triggered during the exercise
 * Muted injects in the editor **are not be shown** in your facilitator dashboard MEL.

{% hint style="info" %}
**💡Use Case Example:**\
For users who wish to reuse a base scenario but adapt it to different participants (e.g. changing injects for a specific department or region), this feature allows you to **disable specific content temporarily** without impacting the overall flow or needing to clone and edit entire scenarios.

### New Action Injects

🎉 **What’s New:**\
You can now **start and stop status** **PoL Staxs** with a new Action MEL inject.

⚙️ **How It Works**

* A new inject action type called **“PoL Stax Status”** is now available in the MEL Editor.
* It enables you to **start or stop** a specific PoL Stax automatically at a defined point in the scenario.
* Important limitations:
 * This feature **only works with Deck 1** in PoL.
 * A maximum of **8 Staxs** can run at the same time.

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 **Use Case Example**\
For designers looking to **reduce facilitator workload**, this feature automates the launch of PoL elements during an exercise. Instead of requiring the facilitator to manually start PoL — especially someone unfamiliar with the scenario design — you can now **set it and forget it** in the MEL. This ensures consistent execution and lowers the chance of human error during live sessions.

## Facilitator Dashboard

### **Facilitator Dashboard MEL Improvements**

🎉 **What’s Improved:**\
The MEL view in the Facilitator Dashboard has been redesigned to improve clarity, usability, and real-time inject tracking during exercises.

⚙️ **How It Works**

* The **currently active inject** is now clearly highlighted in **dark blue**, so facilitators always know what’s in play.
* The **next upcoming inject** appears in **grey**, giving quick visual context on what’s coming up.
* A persistent **Session End Time** indicator helps facilitators track the exercise’s end point and plan accordingly.
* **Inject Navigation Controls** allow quick movement between past and upcoming injects for better context and preparation.

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 **Use Case Example**\
Facilitators running a live session now get a clearer view of what’s happening and what’s coming next. Combine this with AI-generated **Facilitated Guidance** from the Editor to gain full visibility and confidently drive the session forward.

### **Mute Injects in Facilitator Dashboard**

🎉 **What’s New**\
Facilitators can now **mute injects directly in the Facilitator Dashboard**, giving them the ability to adapt the session in real time without impacting the original exercise design.

⚙️ **How It Works**

* A **Mute toggle** is available on each inject in the dashboard.
* When muted:
 * The inject is **skipped** during the exercise.
 * It remains visible in the dashboard (muted state indicated).
* Muting here is **independent** from the MEL Editor. The designer’s configuration stays untouched.
* Facilitators can **mute injects at any time *****before it's highlighted***, even after the exercise has started, allowing real-time adjustments based on audience or context.

{% hint style="info" %}
💡 **Use Case Example**\
During a regional rollout of a global exercise, the facilitator might decide to skip an inject that doesn’t apply to their audience (e.g. cultural or legal differences). With this feature, they can make that call **on the fly**—without changing anything for other regions or affecting the designer’s work.
