# TTX Convertor

This handy application will smooth your migration to Conducttr! Feed it your PowerPoint table-top exercise and the app will convert into a Conducttr project. Once in Conducttr you can apply the finishing touches.

{% step %}

## Getting started (optional)

You don't necessarily need to do these things beforehand but it will make life easier:

### 1. Create a Crisis Team (your participants)

<figure><img src="/files/7F6j3LVlrGEms5PP7sjk" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Here you have the opportunity to go into more detail about how the team operates.

### 2. Add your usual Conducttr persona library

<figure><img src="/files/KoSmv4wMKfC0lfKXamYq" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Generate a project

Navigate back to `Projects`, select your *Crisis Team* and *Classification*, and give the project a name.

With the project created you can now upload your Powerpoint tabletop exercise.

### Origin

The Convertor will take the PowerPoint and put it into text (with your slide titles as headings), including any slide notes where you might already have Facilitator instructions.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Generate Story & Plot

You can now generate the Story, Plot, and the Exercise.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
You don't *need* to generate the story & plot, you could go directly to Exercise, but you might find it helpful to generate the plot at least because it'll also generate the subplots which can be used later to filter the injects while you're reviewing or refining them.
{% endhint %}

### Story

The Story is the narrative of the exercise. In the Convertor this is told in prose as a straight-forward chronological order of events, including:

* How time moves in the exercise
* What the source material leaves open
* The chronological story (including events participants only learn about later)

<figure><img src="/files/KuAc6F0j5eySssgmSM4U" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Plot

The Plot is how the Story is told over the course of the exercise.

You can see in the Convertor a comparison of the Story and Plot where activities that contribute to the crisis may not be revealed until later in the exercise.

You can also view your original slides alongside the Plot and Exercise, allowing you to double-check.

#### Subplots

Subplots are smaller contributors to the main plot. Review them here:

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Personas

See all personas used in the exercise and what channels they have activated.

You can drag personas on to each other to merge them. The persona underneath is replaced by the one you drag.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Teams

Review teams and make any necessary changes e.g. merging / cross referencing injects.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Export to TXPS

TXPS is the Conducttr sharefile. Export to this format to create a Conducttr-ready file for importing. After importing you'll be able to run the exercise!

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://helpdocs.conducttr.com/labs/free-apps/ttx-convertor.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
