# Persona as a team member

The recommended approach is to use impersonation and assign the player a permission that matches with the personas they should impersonate.

However, if a role-player is only impersonating one persona it can be more convenient for the player to log in as that persona they're playing.

To accomplish this you'll need to ensure:

* The persona’s email is the same as the participant's login
* The facilitator can reset the password for the persona if they have a fictional email address

{% step %}

### Assign persona as a team member

1. Enable the email channel for the persona and enter an email address. If the persona needs to send emails than it should be a fictional email address that's in keeping with that persona.

2. Click "General" and check the box "Matches player"

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add personas to the teams table

1. Navigate to the teams table and click "Add personas" in the bottom right corner. This will copy over all personas that have "Matches player" toggled on
2. Toggle the password switch and set a password
3. Click the checkbox to allow passwords to be reset by the Facilitator. This is neccessary for fictional email addresses. The player will log in to the exercise with this email address and password, but it may be necessary to reset the password

{% endstepper %}

### :zap:Password resets during an exercise

If you need to reset the player's password during an exercise, navigate to the player in the Facilitator Dashboard's teams table and click the password reset icon. This will generate a password reset link.

This link can now be emailed/passed onto the player outside of Conducttr so they can reset their password and continue to log in.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://helpdocs.conducttr.com/feature-documentation/designing-and-running/registration/players-personas-and-role-players/persona-as-a-team-member.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
