# Captions

The Captions channel allows you to display story-time, points, or other status changes. The key features are:&#x20;

* Add two different lines of text
* Update this text whenever you wish by publishing to captions channel
* Style top and bottom text line independently of each other

## Configuring the Captions channel

The Caption channel is displayed on the left of the virtual desktop underneath the player profile image. If a player is using a mobile phone, they won't see the caption as it's not visible in mobile view.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/dZWo0o9o14k0WDeYupAD" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

To adjust the colour, font, text size and position - above or below the channel icons - navigate to **Configuration > Channels > Click Captions** and then click the pencil & ruler icon in the top right hand corner.

## Publishing to the Caption channel

Although it's nice to select a persona, the persona is never seen in the caption channel.

When using the caption to communicate the current exercise date/time, tagging the inject can help make the MEL more easy to read but it's not necessary.
