# Phone call

The Phone call channel is a rich media pop-up that **simulates an incoming phone call**.&#x20;

| Benefit                     | Feature        |
| --------------------------- | -------------- |
| Grab the player's attention | MP3 audio file |

## Designing

### How to (Injects)

Create an inject as normal, choose your persona etc. and attach/drag and drop an audio file.

<figure><img src="https://helpdocs.conducttr.com/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F3476309720-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252FsNKxYbIPgfYmCR9EJgAu%252Fuploads%252F13QbGQoMFejIFyRHGMno%252FNew%2520HTML%2520screenshots%2520%284%29.gif%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3Dce0efc0c-d5e5-4a7d-b7eb-c41e8debede4&#x26;width=768&#x26;dpr=4&#x26;quality=100&#x26;sign=c70f456&#x26;sv=2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Receiving a voicemail <a href="#receiving-a-voicemail" id="receiving-a-voicemail"></a>

Players have the ability to reject calls and not listen to them. They also may struggle to remember the call after it's finished. To counter this, you might consider adding **a voicemail channel in the form of saving the audio file to the Portal (Drive) channel**.

{% hint style="info" %}
To learn more about the Portal channel, visit the page below:
{% endhint %}

{% content-ref url="/pages/eX1N92cDLoqKAOms2koW" %}
[Portal](/feature-documentation/designing-and-running/channels/information-based-channels/portal.md)
{% endcontent-ref %}

The images below show different approaches to recording the call:

<figure><img src="/files/kQTx25mItgXpMnAu6D0o" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Option 1:** A dedicated channel (Portal) has been created called *Voicemail*

**Option 2:** A persona called *Call recorder* has been created and publishes to a regular channel

### How to (Configuration) <a href="#styling-the-phone-call" id="styling-the-phone-call"></a>

Go to `Configuration` *>* `Player Desktop` *>* `Phone Calls` .

<figure><img src="https://helpdocs.conducttr.com/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F3476309720-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252FsNKxYbIPgfYmCR9EJgAu%252Fuploads%252Fjk5R7QnL044OSMBb4xXC%252FNew%2520HTML%2520screenshots%2520%2810%29.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3Dd9e7fc47-7c85-4e6a-b631-2116344dfe8e&#x26;width=768&#x26;dpr=4&#x26;quality=100&#x26;sign=50be6c6a&#x26;sv=2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Here you can edit the background, Phone image, the accept and reject buttons and the logo:

<figure><img src="https://helpdocs.conducttr.com/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F3476309720-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252FsNKxYbIPgfYmCR9EJgAu%252Fuploads%252FaMBN42Es0o82LuBDPCzq%252FNew%2520HTML%2520screenshots%2520%289%29.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3D690d4319-6533-462c-8d5e-f6f38509933c&#x26;width=768&#x26;dpr=4&#x26;quality=100&#x26;sign=a2697786&#x26;sv=2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Adding a phone background image makes the player experience more enticing:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://helpdocs.conducttr.com/feature-documentation/designing-and-running/channels/pop-up-channels/phone-call.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
