InfoMap has the following capabilities: Filter and search by: * **Keyword** (on feed or map) * **Channel** (GoSocial, MicroBlog, InstaMedia, Website/News, Videoblog, Telegraph) * **Timeframe** * **Geographical region** * **Open and interact** with posts View in a range of immersive modes: * **Channel** view * **Activity** view * **Full screen** * **Zoom** in/out {% hint style="success" %} The feed loads 15 posts at a time and loads the next 15 when you scroll to the bottom (infinite scroll). {% endhint %} ### News aggregation News aggregation conveniently provides insight into media activity on one screen. This replicates familiar software trainees might use in real life and contributes to a **high fidelity environment**. ### Available actions #### Editing locations during an exercise To edit personas' locations during the exercise first assign the *Edit Players Geolocation* special permission under `Teams` in the Facilitator Dashboard.

Once this has been assigned click on the persona's social media profile, and then the :round\_pushpin: pin next to the persona's profile image:

#### Filter & search You can search for specific content by applying various features:

Filter by...	Description
Keywords	There are two different ways you can search for keywords: 1. The main search bar to search the filtered map area OR 2. The secondary search bar to further search the feed
Channel	Click on `Channel` drop-down Select the content you want to filter from the drop-down menu
Timeframe	You can filter content by minutes, hours, days, months or years: Click on the 🗓️ calendar, located to the left of the map search bar Select the time frame you desire and click `Apply`
Geographical region	Information can be filtered geographically by drawing on the map: Click on the desired shape on the bottom left of the map (polyline, polygon, rectangle, and circle) Draw the shape around the intended geographical area

Filter by...	Description

Channel	You can filter content by channel: 1. Click on channel 2. Select the content you want to filter from the drop-down menu

Geographical reigion	Information can be filtered geographically by drawing on the map: 1. Click on the calendar, located to the left of the map search bar 2. Select the timeframe you desire and click "apply"

#### Open and interact with posts Pins on the map are interactive and when clicked on, display all the posts from that location. When an icon is clicked, that post is then located in the field. Click on `See source` to find, view and interact with the original post. #### View in a range of immersive modes By switching to Activity view, important news is quicker to recognise because icons are assigned based on content.

View/mode	Description
Activity and Channel view	Click on `Layers` to switch between activity and channel view. Switching between these views will impact the icons displayed on the map and in the feed. In Activity view, icons correspond to content matching words or phrases in the live feed.
KML (Keyhole Markup Language) Layer	Select `Add KML Layer` to display geographic data and visual elements on InfoMap as you can with earth browsers like Google Earth.
Full screen mode	Full screen mode hides the Virtual Desktop, allowing for a more immersive experience of InfoMap. To enable full screen view: Click on the full screen button located in the top left hand corner of the map.

Activity and Channel view	Click on "layers" to switch between activity and channel view. Switching between these views will impact the icons displayed on the map and in the feed. In Activity view, icons correspond to content matching words or phrases in the live feed.

*** ## Designing ### How to (Configuration) To configure the InfoMap channel in the Editor, go to `Configuration` > `Channels` > `InfoMap` and see the settings on the right-hand side:

#### Activities Use *Activities* to group keywords together and assign icons before the exercise. Click `Edit activities` to add a new activity, import or export, and reset to default.

#### Configure geotagged personas Enter the desired coordinates into the *Location* box, or manually select the location of personas by clicking the :map: map and pin icon.

This will take you to a map where you can pin the location of a persona:

#### Configure geotagged factions To geotag entire factions, filter the faction you wish to geotag and click the stack icon to bulk change personas:

In the *Bulk change personas* window, tick the *Change location* checkbox and either manually enter the desired coordinates or select the location via the map by clicking the map and pin icon:
