# InfoMap

InfoMap displays social media and news articles on a **global map** and content feed for personas that are **geolocated**.&#x20;

InfoMap has the following capabilities:&#x20;

Filter and search by:&#x20;

* **Keyword** (on feed or map)
* **Channel** (GoSocial, MicroBlog, InstaMedia)
* **Timeframe**
* **Geographical region**
* **Open and interact** with posts

View in a range of immersive modes:

* **Channel** view
* **Activity** view
* **Full screen**
* **Zoom** in/out

### News aggregation

News aggregation conveniently provides insight into media activity on one screen. This replicates familiar software trainees might use in real life and contributes to a **high fidelity environment**.

### Available actions

#### Editing locations during an exercise

To edit personas' locations during the exercise first assign the *Edit Players Geolocation* special permission. Once this has been assigned click on the persona's social media profile, and then the pin next to the persona's profile image:

#### Filter & search

You can search for specific content by applying various features:

| Filter by...         | Description                                                                                                                                                                                                     |

| Keywords             | <p>There are two different ways you can search for keywords:<br><br>1. The main search bar to search the filtered map area<br><br>2. The secondary search bar to further search the feed</p>                    |
| Channel              | <p>You can filter content by channel:<br><br>1. Click on channel<br><br>2. Select the content you want to filter from the drop-down menu</p>                                                                    |
| Timeframe            | <p>You can filter content by minutes, hours, days, months or years:<br><br>1. Click on the calendar, located to the left of the map search bar<br><br>2. Select the timeframe you desire and click "apply"</p>  |
| Geographical reigion | <p>Information can be filtered geographically by drawing on the map:<br><br>1. Click on the calendar, located to the left of the map search bar<br><br>2. Select the timeframe you desire and click "apply"</p> |

#### Open and interact with posts

Pins on the map are interactive and when clicked on, display all the posts from that location. When an icon is clicked, that post is then located in the field. Click on `See source` to find, view and interact with the original post.

#### View in a range of immersive modes

By switching to Activity view, important news is quicker to recognise because icons are assigned based on content.&#x20;

### How to (Configuration)

To configure the Help Desk channel in the Editor, go to `Configuration` > `Channels` > `InfoMap` and see the settings on the right-hand side:

#### Configure geotagged personas

Enter the desired coordinates into the *Location* box, or manually select the location of personas by clicking the map and pin icon.

This will take you to a map where you can pin the location of a persona:

#### Configure geotagged factions

To geotag entire factions, filter the faction you wish to geotag and click the stack icon to bulk change personas:

In the Bulk change personas window, tick the *Change location* checkbox and either manually enter the desired coordinates or select the location via the map by clicking the map and pin icon:
